Module IV
Smart movement. When you change harmonic series, when you don’t, and the laziest slide between any two notes.

Each note in its default position.

the smart way
Same harmonic series — no slide move at all. A pure lip slur.
slide travel: 0 positions · lip slur
The textbook path puts every note in first-choice position. The smart path hunts the horn for alternate positions that keep the slide still — or nearly still. When both notes live in the same harmonic series, you never move the slide at all: that is a lip slur, the most legato connection on the instrument.
